Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation is a popular treatment for women of all ages. Sought after, especially, by postpartum mothers and perimenopausal women, this powerful treatment can have a major impact on the most intimate areas of a woman’s life. While prescription drugs can assist with vaginal dryness, and more invasive procedures like Labiaplasty or Vaginoplasty can help women with vaginal looseness or appearance, Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation is a non-surgical alternative with little to no discomfort or downtime.
Motivations for Vaginal Rejuvenation
- Vaginal Laxity
- Appearance
- Urinary Incontinence
- Vaginal Dryness
- Discomfort During Sex
In order to explain the various reasons patients seek out Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation, we’re sharing some helpful illustrations. If you know, you know!

Tissue Laxity and Appearance
Often after pregnancy and aging, the vaginal muscles and skin loose their tone and can become loose or lax. There are many side-effects of this tissue laxity, one being the appearance of the labia. Changes in the appearance of the vagina is one of the most common reasons why women seek vaginal rejuvenation. These changes can be a major source of intimate insecurities and discomfort. Much like Fractional Laser or Laser Genesis work to stimulate collagen and elastin for the face and neck, the Intima Laser works to stimulate collagen and elastin production in the inner and outer vaginal tissue.

Stress Urinary Incontinence
If you’ve never had children, you might have heard your mom or a friend joke about peeing a little when they laugh or jump on the trampoline with their kids. This is often because the vaginal muscles that help women “hold it” have been stretched during delivery. These muscles also become increasingly lax with age. Unfortunately, this leakage can give many women social anxiety; exercise, laughing, coughing or sneezing may mean a trip to the bathroom. By stimulating collagen production in the pelvic floor, these muscles can once again fight against urinary incontinence.

Dryness
Aging and changes in hormones can be common causes of vaginal dryness. With decreased estrogen production, such as with post-menopausal women, the tissues within the vagina become thin, more lax, and less natural lubrication. This mucosa is essential for healthy functioning vaginal microbiota and sexual comfort. Resurfacing lasers work by heating up tissue to promote collagen production. When the tissues within the vagina are stimulated to become thicker and tighter, the vaginal mucosa can re-flourish.

Sexual Discomfort
There are a few reasons why sex may become uncomfortable for women. In addition to potential-trauma and tissue laxity following childbirth, hormonal changes and vaginal dryness after menopause aren’t ideal conditions for enjoyable sex. As discussed in the dryness section earlier, after menopause, patients often look to Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation as a non-prescription option for improving vaginal tone and lubrication, and therefore, sexual comfort.
CO2RE Intima Laser
The CO2RE Intima laser uses advanced CO2 technology to stimulate collagen and elastin production, which leads to increased tone and natural lubrication. When paired with PRP injections to the G-Spot and clitoris, Laser Vaginal Rejuvenation is a two-hour treatment (including numbing) and most patients experience a profound difference within a week. For best results, Imagen recommends three monthly treatments to begin, followed by annual maintenance treatments.
Labial Puffing at Imagen
Many women develop laxity and deflation of the labia majora as they age or genetically have a more elongated labia majora. After childbirth or menopause is usually when women start to experience these changes. Here at Imagen, we are able to increase volume and improve appearance with injections as a non-surgical option known as Labial Puffing.
