Sun damage is one of (if not the number one) causes of early aging. Even when we’re diligent with our sunscreen, the summer heat and sunshine can leave us with new spots, scars, and hyperpigmentation. Since a chemical peel works to reveal deeper, fresh layers of skin, you’re more susceptible to scaring or hyperpigmentation during the peeling process; this is why we typically advise our patients to wait until after summertime to have your chemical peel.
Prepping for a chemical peel involves nightly use of The Perfect Bleaching Cream and The Perfect A. This combination of products resurfaces the skin and minimizes existing hyperpigmentation while also preventing the skin from producing the pigment that creates dark spots.
The active ingredient in the medical-grade Bleaching Cream is hydroquinone. This is the essential ingredient to prepping the skin and preventing new pigmentation issues prior to your chemical peel. After cleansing the skin and applying Bleaching Cream, chemical peel patients will apply a Tretinoin cream called The Perfect A. This prescription-strength retinoic acid is responsible for cell turnover, which is ideal for prepping for your peel.
The Perfect Chemical Peel Benefits:
- Improve Tone
- Improve Texture
- Safe for All Skin Types
- Anti-Aging
- Reduce Fine Lines and Wrinkles
- Improve Acne and Scars
- Minimize Pores

The Perfect Peel is a combination peel that uses powerful antioxidants to penetrate the deeper layers of the skin to combat hyperpigmentation, improve tone and texture, and combat premature aging. The process of application is relatively quick, however, the peel is left on either all day or overnight to allow the ingredients to penetrate the skin.
Patients can expect peeling to begin around day three and finish around day six or seven, but it is extremely important NOT to pull at the shedding skin. Instead, use small sterilized scissors (like eyebrow trimmers) to cut the peeling skin off. Scratching or pulling on the peeling skin can result in hyperpigmentation or scarring.
Following a Chemical Peel, we provide our patients with a post-treatment care kit which includes a Cleansing Complex, Pro Heal Vitamin C Serum, and Hydra-Cool Hydrating Serum. Once peeling is complete, it’s very important to wear sunscreen and maintain the recommended skincare routine. For continued improvement in tone and texture, Laser Genesis is a great treatment to incorporate into your treatment plan. For a deeper treatment to address hyperpigmentation and aging, Fractional Resurfacing is an annual rejuvenation treatment to consider.
